Learn how the Theory of Being can enhance your DEI work

Leader Consultation

You will have the opportunity to have a personal and confidential session to discuss specific challenges when facing interactions across social and political differences or as you imagine next steps in the design of your DEI initiative. We will discuss ways to apply the practices and offer additional tools that are specific to your situation. This personalized support will help leaders in organizations practice the environmental conditions and skills that enable more productive dialogue and more effective implementation of a process-oriented approach. Leaders can take advantage of Office Hour Sessions when faced with a specific dilemma or when befuddled about how to take the next step in their diversity planning process.

Being Circles

The Being Circles (BC) convene six participants six times for two hours over a period of six to nine months. The participants will have access to support from consultants as well as the expertise of the research team to support both their process, content explorations, and strategy for their anti-racism organizational efforts. As part of setting up and operating BCs, we will conduct pre- and post-surveys, a climate survey. This also includes an introductory session and a training session.

Immsersive Partnerships

Immersive partnerships would be particularly beneficial as your department seeks to work on a specific plan focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion; if you are determined to shift your internal climate to be more inclusive and equitable; or if you want to examine and shift the ways you explore issues and imagine solutions.

These 8-week partnerships include the services of two MCI team members working for a total of forty 40 hours (average of five hours per week, depending on arrangements and availability) to offer for any combination of these opportunities to:

  • Attend meetings (observation and participation)
  • Share resources that provide further guidance and information
  • Lead presentations on difficult dialogues
  • Meet for consultations

These partnerships would be particularly beneficial as your department seeks to work on a specific plan focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion; if you are determined to shift your internal climate to be more inclusive and equitable; or if you want to examine and shift the ways you explore issues and imagine solutions.
